A Typical Summer Day

Today was no different than any other “summer day”.  They are a bit more laid back but, at the same time, jam-packed with activity.  Go figure….

I came back from my day off and spent a few hours in the office doing work on my computer:  working on the pastor’s page for July 9th, working on daily reflections, working on an upcoming Pastoral Council retreat, et cetera.  By the way, in case you do not know, I write regular daily reflections for anyone who may be interested.  You can find them on line at http://dailyreflection.org.

Around 4:00 p.m., I came to the house because I had already had enough of the day.  🙂  I sat on the back deck visiting with my birds that live in the bird house hanging right outside my living room door.  I also was able to watch our grade school band practicing for the Fourth of July Parade in Munster.  I hope that the weather is just as breezy for them next Tuesday as it is today.  Otherwise, they’re going to bake on the roads.

I got a lot done today do not have a lot to show for it, if that makes any sense.  Most of the work that I accomplished was in digital form and will not be seen for days or weeks from now.  However, it was all work that needed to be accomplished.

I have to finish my bulletin material tomorrow morning because we transmit earlier next week due to the holiday.  I also need to make sure that I have a week’s worth of reflections written for the week of July 9th because I will be away on retreat.

For now, though, I’m just going to rest up, go to bed early, and get a jump-start on tomorrow when it comes around.  Hope you all have a good evening!
