Twelve Hours And Counting

In twelve hours, I will be starting the 8:00 a.m. Mass.  After that Mass, I will go to the house, throw a few last minute things into my suitcase that is 95% packed, and then make ready to go to Merrillville, pick up Fr. Brian, and head to southern Indiana for my annual retreat.

I have some last minute laundry in the dryer as I type this blog post.  In a half hour, the clothes will be ready to come out and I will be ready to hit the sack.

Today was a good day.  This morning, we had our Pastoral Council meeting where we met our new members and said goodbye to our four members cycling off the Council.  We modified our opening prayer for use throughout the next year and we discussed the results of the recent diocesan synod.  The entire Council was animated in our discussion and was filled with great ideas as we head into the future.

After our meeting, we had a potluck lunch along with freshly grilled rib eye steaks.  Yum, yum, yum! (Thanks, Paul and Jim. 🙂 )

When our meeting and lunch were complete, I went back over to the parish office and worked on my computer getting all sorts of things done for next week.  The bulletin cover and pastor’s pages are finished as well as several other things that I had to complete.  At this point, barring something totally unexpected, nothing is standing in my way of leaving tomorrow morning.

I will be keeping many people in prayer.  I posted on Facebook offering to prayer for people’s intentions.  I have four pages of a Word document filled with prayer requests/intentions.  That ought to keep me busy in my daily prayers.

So, g’night all.  Tomorrow night, I will be writing from the Guesthouse.
