Feeling Pretty Awful

First of all, kindly remember our school principal in your prayers.  For the past year, he has been battling brain cancer.  A few weeks ago, an MRI showed that the tumor had returned and was the size of a walnut.  After two week of chemo, he underwent surgery this morning.  At 12:55 p.m., we were told that he had just come out of surgery, that the surgery went as expected, and that he was on his way up to the ICU.  Please pray for an uneventful recovery for him.  Many thanks!

As to why I’m feeling awful?  Well, at our building meeting this afternoon, we found out for sure that we will be “losing” our church building beginning Tuesday, September 5th, for the remainder of the month of September.  They will be gutting the church mechanical room and we will not have power to the church for lights or sound and we will not have any fans or air conditioning.  Because of that, our weekend Masses will take place in our school gym beginning the weekend of September 9th/10th.

That doesn’t sound so bad, does it?

Well, to the bride whose wedding is scheduled for the 9th, that is not happy news.  And, even though I have secured the use of the Carmelite Shrine’s chapel or church building for our September weddings, the bride is really upset.  I cannot say that I blame her.  But, at the same time, this is out of my control.

I hate disappointing people.  I also hate being out of control of situations.  I cannot wait for this multi-million dollar project to be complete!
