Take The Plank Out First

Jesus sure knew what He was talking about.  (Of course!)  When He told the crowds to take the plank out of their own eye first before going after the speck in their brother’s eye, He meant it.

Too many people nowadays are filled with rage and condemnation.  They judge others way too easily.  They insist on belittling others.  They do not give others a chance to speak or act.  They do not consider any good the others are doing.

I wonder how quick they would be if they turned that critical eye inwards?  Would they judge themselves?  Would they condemn themselves?  Sadly, I think not.  They would simply refuse to turn that critical eye inward.  They would merely say that there is nothing wrong with them.  They don’t have a problem.  The rest of the world does.

Hey folks, this quick rant is a reminder that none of us are perfect.  Let me say it again:  none of us are perfect.  Let me emphasize it:  none of us are perfect.  Let me shout it:  NONE OF US ARE PERFECT.

So, please, get over yourselves.  Look to what you need to do to be a better person.  Then, and only then, will you be equipped to help someone else be a better person.  Because then you won’t condemn.  Instead, you will lovingly show someone the error of his or her ways and be willing to help them change.
