The Highs And Lows

I’ve had several highs and lows this week.  The lows have, mostly, been related to our renovation project.  If I have said it once, I’ve said it a million times:  I have learned one thing during this renovation project.  Don’t ever do another renovation project! 🙂

Of my highs, the most enjoyable has been when a good friend took me out Thursday evening for a “pre-birthday” birthday dinner.  We went to Teibel’s.  My friend was hoping that they still had their all-you-can-eat perch on the menu.  Alas, that was not to be the case.  However, I found something just as enjoyable: all-you-can-eat shrimp and beer battered cod with Parmesan fries, a cup of soup (turkey chili this past Thursday), coleslaw, and a scoop of ice cream for dessert.

The shrimp and cod were absolutely excellent.  I have to confess that I had extras on the shrimp and cod.  No extra fries, though.  I thought that would be too much.  Besides, I was saving room for my ice cream.  If you like that kind of meal, they have that special every Thursday and Friday.  And it was only $17.95.  You can’t beat that.

The waitress even brought a little cake with a candle in it because she knew it was my birthday celebration.

Give me a “woo”.  Give me a “hoo”.  Woo Hoo!!!  Here’s to good friends who go out of their way to throw birthday surprises!
