On To A New Year

New years begin at all sorts of times throughout the year.  We have calendar years, fiscal years, school years, and the like.  Today, we began our new Pastoral Council year.  We selected four new members on Pentecost Sunday. This morning, we held our annual goodbye/hello meeting and retreat.  We said goodbye to the four members of the council whose terms had come to an end and welcome our four three-year term members.

After our meeting, we had a mini-retreat.  Following the retreat, we had lunch.  The sides were potluck.  The main course, rib eye steaks, was donated by one of the council members and grilled by another.

The camaraderie shown at these gatherings is really special.  They are a wonderful group of people and I so look forward to working with them.
