The Day After The Day After

Yesterday, I told you that the place looked like a bomb went off.  Well, this morning, when I was going across to the parish office (around 7:00 a.m.) the street sweepers were working our parking lot, cleaning up all the debris.  Good thing, too.  Because, about ten minutes after they left, we had that downpour to beat all downpours.  It lasted about a half hour and was the strongest rain I have seen in a while.  The long and short of it was that it washed the parking lot really clean.  It made it look like nothing had ever been there.

If the rain would have happened before the street sweepers came out, we would have had all sorts of wet paper plastered against our parking lot and would be picking that stuff up for days!

The rest of the day was spent catching up from things left on the side while the festival was going on.  I also had the first of the wake services for my three funerals this week this afternoon.  Tomorrow morning, I have a funeral, Thursday another one, and Saturday the third.  Going to be a busy week.

It feels good to be back to the old routine, though.
