What Do You See?

I caught this picture on a dark evening when, all of a sudden, light from the setting sun bathed the flower.

What did I see?  Color.  Vibrant, glorious color.  I saw “heat” in the sun-yellow center of the flower.  I saw velvety smoothness in the orange petals.  And then, I saw a torn and tattered mess.

The “light” of the yellow tracing the petals show a flower so ragged; yet, so beautiful.  And I thought, “what a metaphor for our lives.”  No matter how ragged we might feel, or might actually be, God can shine through and shine forth.

Are you going to allow yourself to be a tattered mess? Or, are you going to allow the glory of God to shine forth through you?
