Endings And Beginnings

I absolutely cannot believe that Saturday is December 1st.  I truly do not know where 2018 went.  Eleven months down, one to go to the new year.

For the Church, the end is coming even sooner.  Saturday evening, we will celebrate the vigil of Advent, the first of the new liturgical year.  The readings have been reminding us that “the end” is coming soon.  As fast as time seems to be going, the end is going to be coming way too soon for me.

I don’t know about you; but, I’m not ready.  I’m not ready for Advent.  I’m not ready for Christmas.  I’m not ready for a New Year.  I sure as heck am not ready for the end of my life.  However, time marches on, relentlessly . . . and quickly!

I hope that, in the fast-paced upcoming holidays, you can find some time to yourself so that you can anchor some inner peace to get you through the business of life.  One of my anchors is my post-holiday vacation at Disney.  I’m not going to start a countdown here.  I’m just glad to know that it’s coming soon.  🙂
