Today was a typical Saturday. What made it more extraordinary, however, was the fact that we welcomed Fr. Declan McNicholas to our parish as our new Associate Pastor. We had a reception for him in our school cafeteria after the 5:30 p.m. Mass and will have receptions after all the Masses tomorrow.
I’m hoping that he gets to meet a good percentage of the parishioners at the receptions. He is excited about being here and I think he is going to do a phenomenal job. I know that he is going to be very busy, picking up a lot of the slack that I leave behind as I go to the diocesan Pastoral Center daily to do my work there until a new bishop is appointed to our diocese.
