On this day in 1977, Elvis Presley left the planet. The “King of Rock” died at his home. It was a sad day in music history and I remember the laments of many people. I was in my third year of college at the time.
Even more poignant, on this day in 1992, my maternal grandmother passed away. She meant the world to me and her passing was a huge loss. My mother, who had taken care of her for a long time, was really affected by the loss as well. Shortly after my grandmother’s death, my mom was diagnosed with her illness (ALS) and did not live much longer.
A sad day filled with sweet memories.
