A Need For Serenity

Today was a long day.  I had to get up early because I had a 6:30 a.m. appointment with my eye doctor for my glaucoma check.  Pressure in both eyes is still at 15, so doc was pleased.  Next check is in three months and is my “big” check (field vision check, pressure check, eyes dilated and examined thoroughly).

Then, I had the 8:30 a.m. all-school Mass.  It was really nice today because we even had our Mass band play at Mass.  It’s nice to hear some woodwinds and brass playing along with the hymns.

I had a couple of appointments at the Pastoral Center when i got in and then had the weekly 11:30 a.m. Mass.  After Mass, I had a lunch meeting with one of the priests and then got back to the Center for more office work.

Our Catholic Charities board meeting was at 4:00 p.m.  After the meeting, I was finally able to go back to the parish, just in time for a parent meeting for Confirmation at 7:00 p.m.

Tomorrow’s my “day off”; but, the diocese is going to be audited beginning tomorrow to check our safe environment program (this happens on a national level every three years) so I need to meet the incoming audit team for an entrance interview.  After that, I can come back to the parish for a staff meeting and then an afternoon off.

So, for now, I’m just going to post a few pictures reflecting serenity because, God knows, I need it!  🙂

  1. I know from your Musings that you are very busy. But life does change as we age. I, too, used to be so busy! Now, if it weren’t for the Wounded Healers, I’d be without something to do. Thank God for the Wounded Healers!
