Early Celebration

This morning, after the Pastoral Council meeting, they had a birthday celebration for me.  My birthday is this coming Wednesday, October 30th. A couple of gifts were Mickey themed, such as the balloons and a candle with the scent of “Dole Whip”.

I am very grateful for the council members who celebrated my day early.  It was a really pleasant surprise.  Thank you!

That was the good part of my day.  The bad part was when Fr. Declan and I were leaving for our weekly Saturday lunch.  I was backing out of the garage and discovered, way too late, that the garage door did not open completely.  It stopped with one panel still down.  The car almost cleared it.  The door caught on the little antennae thingy and ripped it off, sending it sailing across the garage.  Needless to say, I was more than a little miffed.  My two year old baby has a blemish.

I’ll have to take it to the dealer next week and have them look at it and put it back together.

Then, of course, the day turned even bleaker from there.  The weather has been horrible.  The damp, dark, and rain have been affecting my sinuses.  I’m glad I did not have the evening Mass today because that means I don’t have to get up super early for the 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. Masses tomorrow morning.  I’ll be nursing my sinus headache all night.

So, back to cheering me up, pictures of my balloons and of my singing bacon birthday card that I received at Pastoral Council this morning.
