November has always been considered the month in which we remember the faithful departed. Today, priests and deacons of the Diocese of Gary gathered together at Holy Angels Cathedral to remember and pray for all the bishops, priests, and deacons who have served the diocese and have passed away through the years.
It is always good to gather together and it is even more special, I think, when we gather together for such an important cause.
Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
At Holy Angels Cathedral, Bishop Andrew G. Grutka, D.D., the first bishop of the Diocese of Gary, is entombed.
