It’s Over

From hot and sunny to 26 degrees and a winter storm.  How’s that for a “welcome home?”  But, all good things must come to an end.

This morning began early.  I actually set my alarm to make sure that I was up in time to shower, dress, and go to breakfast with Fr. Brian.  When we got back to our room, we gathered our belongings and checked out.  We got on the bus supplied by Disney and made our way to the airport.

While eating breakfast, we lamented the fact that our flight was leaving a couple hours earlier than we have in the past.  The only flights that we could get today were the 1:15 p.m. or a 4:30 p.m.  The 4:30 p.m. would put us home way late and would also make us sit around for a long time as checkout time at the resort is 11:00 a.m.

Unbeknownst to us, when we made our return flight reservations, was that earlier flight out was going to get us home before the weather started to turn on us.  We would be in a snarled mess on the expressway —  that is, if our flight wasn’t cancelled — trying to make our way home right now instead of being safely at home already.  God sure knew what he was doing.

I’ve unpacked, done my laundry, and am getting ready to hit the sack.  Lucky for me that Fr. Declan has the morning Mass tomorrow so I do not have to set my alarm.

Well, folks, that’s about all.  I hope you enjoyed the blog the past two weeks.  There were a lot of “distractions” that took place both for me and for Fr. Brian; but, all in all, it was a good break and I think I am ready to be up and at ’em again.  After I sleep in, that is. 😉

g’night

  1. WELCOME HOME, FATHER! It’s good to have you back… you’ve been missed. Sorry about the weather… we know when Winter finally arrives! You won’t see me in the sacristy, preparing to be a Eucharistic Minister. After more than 30 years as a Eucharistic Minister, I decided at 87 to resign. I don’t want to be one of those who fall on the altar steps! But believe me, I miss it already. I’ve been lucky in spite of everything. 2020 brings lots of changes. Am I ready?
