Holy Week Begins

This evening, Fr. Declan, the two seminarians living at the rectory, and I prayed evening prayer together.  It was Evening Prayer I for Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week.

I remind you that there are no public Masses allowed yet; so, our Holy Week Masses and Services will be live-streamed.  You can find them on our parish web page (www.stm-church.com), on our Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/St.ThomasMoreMunster/), or on our YouTube page.

Masses/Services for this week are as follows:

Palm Sunday, April 5
10:00 a.m. Mass — We are not allowed to bless or distribute palms this year.  You might want to gather some greener from your yards (cuttings from a shrub or evergreen tree) and make greenery to remind yourself of those who waved palms before Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.

Monday, April 6
8:30 a.m. Mass
Also, on Monday, April 6, you can live-stream the Chrism Mass that will be taking place at Holy Angels Cathedral at 11:00 a.m.  For that Mass, you will need to go do the Diocesan Website (dcgary.org).

Tuesday, April 7
8:30 a.m. Mass

Wednesday, April 8
8:30 a.m. Mass

Holy Thursday, April 9
7:00 p.m. Mass of the Lord’s Supper

Good Friday, April 10
1:30 p.m. Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion

Holy Saturday, April 11
2:00 p.m. Blessing of the Easter Baskets (Have your food gathered on your table at home and we will have a brief prayer service and ask God’s blessing upon your first foods of Easter)
8:00 p.m. Vigil Mass of Easter

Easter Sunday, April 12
10:00 a.m. Easter Sunday Mass

These are grim days and now, more than ever, we need to turn to our God in prayer and in worship.  We might not be able to gather together in church but we can sure gather together online as the Church of Jesus Christ.  I hope that you will be able to join us for Holy Week Masses and services.
