Sad

I was so hoping that we would make it through this week.  Then, the students would have gone home for Thanksgiving break and eLearned for the three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks.

That was the plan.  However, other exposures to COVID positive people that would necessitate the quarantining of several classrooms and/or faculty just made it unfeasible to continue in-person learning.  So, this morning, teachers reported to school and bagged students’ books and other materials to take home so that they could continue learning there.

Our students will not return until January at the earliest.  If this pandemic continues going south, who knows how long they will be at home.

As we were doing everything to send things home, I heard about other schools in our diocese as well as public schools in surrounding communities who also cried “uncle” to the pandemic and had their students stay home to learn.  I am so ready for this to be over and, yet, I know that we have a long way to go.
