Well, I have come to a decision. I’m not going to be going on vacation in January as I had hoped. The explanation is quite simple. I have been encouraging my parishioners to stay home and not travel during this pandemic and risk getting sick and bringing the virus home. It would be irresponsible of me not to do what I am recommending to others. Worse, it would be horrible if I would go away, get sick, and infect a number of my parish before I knew I was sick.
So, it looks like I will take a staycation and just lock myself in the house for several days after the holidays. I need some time off, that’s for sure. But I don’t need to go away and make things worse.
