Long Day “On Vacation”

Today was a long day for being on staycation.  I set an alarm for the first time this week in order to be up early enough to come over to the offices and prepare for a 10:00 a.m. funeral for someone I have grown close to these past eighteen years at the parish.  Nell was a wonderful woman of faith and I wouldn’t allow myself to miss her funeral.

Before the funeral, once I set up, I worked on next Sunday’s Pastor’s Page for the bulletin as well as the bulletin cover.  Next Sunday is the beginning of Catholic Schools Week, so it was easy to write!

We went out to lunch — Fr. Declan, Fr. Ted, and me — and then I came back and finished the bulletin work.  From there it was afternoon confessions and then the evening 5:30 p.m. Mass

Once I finished with Mass, l locked and alarmed the church and came back to the house.  I wrote this and once I hit “Publish”, I will rest for a little bit before going to bed early since I have the 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. Masses tomorrow morning.  After the Masses, I begin my staycation again until a Wake Service on Wednesday and a funeral on Thursday for a former secretary, Veronica.

Have a good evening, all!
