Day Of Rest

Today was really restful.  I slept pretty good last night considering I wasn’t at home.  I didn’t set any alarms either so that I could sleep in.  Those of you who know me well are laughing even as you read that.  Yes, you’re right.  I was up by 6:00 a.m.  But, hey, I woke up on my own and not to an alarm. 🙂

I went downstairs to get breakfast.  They have a continental breakfast now and supply bags so that you can rustle up whatever grub you want and take it back to your room.  Pandemic adjustments.  But they had a lot of things available.  I had a bagel with cream cheese, Lite & Lively yogurt, a banana, and two hard-boiled eggs.  Not bad at all.

When I finished, I went out and did something that I have wanted to do for four weeks now.  I got a haircut at Great Clips.  When I gave them my phone number, they found me in their system so the guy who cut my hair knew how I like it cut.  That was great.  (Pun intended.)

The morning and early afternoon was very cloudy and it was sprinkling on and off until mid to late afternoon.  When I went to Marytown to pray, the chapel was at its pandemic capacity (they’re much more crazy about the pandemic up here in Illinois than we are at home!) so I hung around outside a little bit but when it started spritzing rain again, I went back to the hotel and chilled.

All in all, it’s been a quiet and restful day and one that I’ve needed for a while. More tomorrow.
