There’s No Place Like Home

I was discharged from the hospital this afternoon around 1:00 p.m.  Now that I’m home, let me tell you about my experience at Community Hospital. The nurses and CNAs that I had were not good. I don’t mean to alarm anyone; but, you can hardly call them good.

What you would have to call them is Excellent, Stellar, Compassionate, Competent, and a whole host of other superlatives. If you are employed at Community Hospital, be proud of what you provide.

It bothers me when I hear people say that, in order to get good hospital care, you should go to Chicago or even to Mayo. Come on. If you want to get good hospital care, drive down the street to our local gem: Community Hospital!

The one thing I’ve always maintained: you go to a hospital to get better but you come back home to rest and recuperate. It’s the nature of the beast that you are poked and prodded and awakened at all hours while inpatient. I am SO looking forward to an uninterrupted night of sleep.

The bizarre thing is that I cannot begin my oral antibiotic regimen until tomorrow.  I was discharged with a prescription and they transmitted it to Walgreens.  Guess what.  All the Walgreens pharmacies are closed today.  I’ve never heard of that before.  So, I’m going to have to count on my three IV antibiotic infusions to carry me over until I get my prescription tomorrow.
