Today was a day for two firsts.
This morning, after the 8:30 a.m. 3rd/4th grade school Mass, our third graders celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. Thank you, Fr. Bart and Fr. Bertino for helping me to hear our students’ confessions. I think I can say that it was a good experience for them. There were very excited afterwards.
Then, this evening, I helped to hear first confessions at Our Lady of Grace Church in Highland.
There is something very special about watching children experience this sacrament for the first time. Their nerves beforehand are almost always much less than their joy afterward. It’s a wonderful thing to see.
