This past Tuesday morning, the pacemaker specialist called me to say that my unit transmitted the night before informing her that it needed to be replaced due to a low battery. This afternoon, I received a call from the doctor’s scheduler asking me to come in for surgical replacement of the pacemaker/defibrillator next Thursday, March 24th (my dad’s birthday, no less). I will be out of the office for one week until Friday, April 1st.
The Carmelite Fathers have agreed to take both daily Masses and any funerals that come up.
