My Daily Musing

   Anybody who tells me that I must look forward to summers because "nothing goes on at parishes during the summer" could get clobbered.
   This place gets extremely busy during the summer. While school goes on, there is a predictable ebb and flow to the school year. But with the summer, chaos appears to rule.
   We begin that chaos immediately after school gets out as we prepare our building and grounds for our annual summer festival.
   Now, this week, we go into high gear again with our annual Vacation Bible School.
   You might say, "Vacation Bible School? That's rather sedate."
   Oh yeah?
   Try doing Vacation Bible School with 250 participants.
   You heard correctly.
   250.
   That is ten more than participated last year. Each year, more and more children come to our Vacation Bible School and have the time of their lives.
   Of course, while all of that goes on, we have to put a hold on preparing our building and rooms for a new school year. That will begin in earnest again next week.
   But for this week, we are prepared for the 250 children plus the staff and volunteers to help with that crew.
