Mexican Riviera 2026 – Day Four

Today, we were in La Paz.

As you can see, we were in an industrial port.  There was not a lot there except for a section of pop-up tents for people to hawk their wares.

There were a variety of items from jewelry to carved items to tequila to candies.  As you have probably guessed, I purchased candies for some of the crew.  I bought a guava type of gummy and also fresh coconut candy for my stateroom attendant, main dining room servers, and head waiter.  They all appreciated the sweet treats.

After dinner, I decided to go to Next Cruise to see if there was something in 2028 that sparked my interest.  Ahem…

Yep . . . I did it . . . I booked another cruise with the Next Cruise staff. This one is one of my bucket list cruises: a transatlantic from Copenhagen, Denmark to Boston, MA. Iceland and Greenland. 17 nights. I’ll be in a spacious balcony room on the Jewel of the Seas. It is a Radiance class ship like the one that I am on right now.

This is the first cruise that I have booked taking advantage of my newer loyalty status in the Crown and Anchor Society with Royal Caribbean. Usually, a solo pays up to 200% of the cruise because it’s based on double occupancy. However, with my status, I am now paying 125% of the fare which saves a lot of money.

Since I booked on board, I only had to put down a $100 deposit. Payment is not due until May 1st of 2028 so I have lots of time to put money aside for it.

Tomorrow we are in Cabo San Lucas.  I secured a spot on the 11:30 a.m. tender in case I feel like going in to town.  I think I’ll probably stay on board, though.  It depends upon the waters and the weather.  It’s about a fifteen minute ride on the tender to the pier and I don’t do so well on those smaller boats bouncing about.  As I said, we’ll see. 🙂
