I just returned from St. Bridget Church in Hobart. This evening, they had a farewell dinner for Fr. Dominic Bertino. He has been the pastor there for twenty-seven years and is retiring. As a matter of fact, today was his very last day. Tomorrow, July 1st, begins a new fiscal year and the first day of his retirement.
He has a lot of boxes to unpack in his home. He will be lucky if he gets everything done in time to put up a Christmas tree this year!
Thank you, Fr. Bertino, for all that you have done for the Diocese of Gary in general and for St. Bridget in particular.
