I’m on the move.
Literally.
This afternoon, a few younger and stronger parishioners helped me to move a few pieces from the rectory to the condo. These are pieces that, if they were not going to be able to handle, I would have had to hire a moving company to take care of. Thankfully, they were able to do it.
Now, over the next few months, anything else that needs to go over to the condo before my retirement, I can do on my own. I feel relieved that those bigger pieces are in place.
It’s strange to talk about moving. However, time is flying and before I know it, the summer will be here. I want to make sure that I am moved out of my quarters here at the rectory a couple months before my retirement. That will give the maintenance people time to come into the house and repair some things on the walls (like cracks from the addition settling) as well as paint the quarters whatever color the new pastor will want.
As I said, it’s strange thinking about all of this and talking about all of this but it’s a reality that is coming. And while it might be causing a little anxiety, I’m getting more and more ready for it.
Thanks, guys, for helping me move my bigger pieces today.
