Well, today was the first day of the new year. Pretty much same old, same old. 🙂
I began the day rather early — 4:00 a.m. wake up — and was opening the church at 4:45 a.m.
I celebrated the 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. Masses and then did some office work until after the Noon Mass. When that Mass was over, I locked and alarmed the church and did a bit more office work until heading back to the house around 2:30 p.m.
I didn’t go to the condo today as I had originally planned. The weather was wearing at my bones so I vegged at the rectory. I’m hoping to sneak away tomorrow for a few hours to spend some time at the condo. I didn’t get there earlier this week because my day off was lost again to the holiday.
Saturday afternoon, I will pack for my vacation. Sunday morning, after my 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. Masses, I will head to Midway Airport for my annual post-New Year vacation to Florida. Yes, it’s time for mental health therapy. I’m going to the Orlando Clinic and seeing Dr. Mickey and Nurse Minnie.
