Oh, today was sooooo long. I got up at 4:00 a.m., showered and headed over to the church to open up. I had the 6:30 and 8;00 a.m. Masses and then was driven to Midway Airport for my flight to Orlando.
I breezed through security (thanks, TSA Precheck!) and found my gate. I was happy because it was B3. That’s like winning the lottery. I didn’t have to walk long to get there. After a half hour wait, the changed the gate to B12. Still not bad.
Our flight was delayed because the plane got in a bit late. We ended up pushing away about 15 minutes later than our take off time but we landed about 15 minutes early in Orlando so they made up the time in the air.
It was in Orlando that everything started to go south. First of all, it took 45 minutes before our baggage started to come out on the carousel. Then, after getting my bag, I walked to the bus area for the shuttle to Disney. It took 50 minutes for the bus to arrive. They said the roads were bad but by that time, I was getting wiped out. It was a long day and I didn’t need all of that.
When I arrived at Disney’s Boardwalk and walked inside, one of the bell services people saw me and his face lit up. He practically shouted, “You’re back!” and gave me a big hug. He told the front desk that I was the best visitor to have. Made me feel really good. 🙂
He brought my Owner’s Locker and the boxes of delivered groceries to my room for me. We were visiting away when we came into the room and heard the clinking of the refrigerator. There is no way I would be able to sleep with the noise that it was making.
He told me that he was going to contact maintenance right away and, by God, he did. Within ten minutes, there was a knock on my door and maintenance attempted to remedy the situation. The guy pulled the fridge away from the wall and cleaned out some things in the back and turned it back on. It sounded good for about a minute and then started making the same horrible noise. It sounded like a bad compressor on it.
The guy looked at me and said that he would be right back with a replacement fridge. He brought a new fridge to the room and took the wounded soldier away.
By then, I was beat from a super long day. I finished unpacking and now I’m writing this to say that I’m here and hoping that all the glitches for my vacation are over so that tomorrow could begin better.
g’night
