I said that I wasn’t going to necessarily live a countdown to my retirement next summer and I’m truly trying not to do that. However, today had a different meaning for me as I relished in a “last”. Today was the last time that I stood in front of the parish community at every weekend Mass to give the annual finance report.
I will surely not miss having to do that any more. 🙂
I have done an annual finance report both in the bulletin as well as from the pulpit because I truly believe that the parish deserves an accounting of the funds that were entrusted to us to use. I want them to know that we have always been and continue to be transparent when it comes to using the money entrusted to us via the collections as well as other donations.
I have been at this parish for a little over 22 years and have managed a multimillion dollar budget between the church and the school. That has been stressful and I look forward to the day where the only budget I have to worry about is my own personal checkbook.
If any of you reading this are parishioners, let me take this opportunity to THANK YOU for your continued contributions. Because of the support of the parish family, we have managed to accomplish so much!
