Insanity Rules

Today was a bit rough on me physically.  The front that was/is coming through was playing havoc on my sinuses.  After the 8:30 a.m. Mass, I got some office work done and then told the secretary I was going to the house to eat some tylenol and rest my head.

Ten minutes after I got to the house, our power blipped out for about a minute.  I called the office to see if it had happened at the parish as well and, sure enough, it had.  Even more, the UPS unit that the office computer was plugged into didn’t hold up.  When the power went out, it crashed and the computer with it.  When the power came back on, the UPS was useless.

So, I had to scrounge up one of our new units we hold for just these reasons and take everything off the old UPS and plug them into the new.  Everything was back up and running in about an hour.  Everything, that is, except for me. 😮

My sinuses were still bad at the evening Mass.  Halfway through the Preface before the Eucharistic Prayer, I had to stop and cough as everything started draining.  I made it through the remainder of the Mass without incident and got back over to the house by 6:50 p.m.

I’m glad I don’t have the early Masses tomorrow.  I can sleep in to my normal time.  That is, if I can sleep.
