I had a doctor’s appointment this morning with my internist. He’s the one who has been “keeping me alive” for many years now. I first met up with him when I was ordained. Before that time, my cousin, Dr. Benchik, took care of me. After ordination, I needed a doctor and a nursing friend recommended my present doctor, Dr. Walsh. I’m so glad that she suggested him. I’ve been with him for over forty years now.
Numbers were good. Blood levels were appropriate (given my conditions) and everything appears fine. Next appointment in six months.
The hard part for me (and my diabetes) will be the next two holiday weeks because so much food comes in, so many cookies, so much candy. It’s hard to say now. Generally, I do, but I also cheat a bit at this time of the year.
One week to Christmas. Hope you’re all ready!
