This afternoon, I was able to “attend” the memorial service for Gerry Spejewski via the funeral home’s livestream.
Gerry was my high school English teacher and Speech teacher. He was also a co-director for our high school plays and musicals.
He had a unique style that helped him to get his message across, whatever that message may need to be. He was good at seeing the strengths in his students, strengths that they often did not see in themselves.
I thank God for people like Gerry who taught me through the years. While they may have been excellent teachers, they were even better as mentors.
