Better But Bitter

It was a better day today than yesterday.  But it was bitter.  Very bitter.

Bitter cold, that is.

When I went to the church this morning, I was bundled up against the cold wind and looked up at the skies that looked like it was full of dark snow clouds.  Thank God that never came about.

The day flowed from one event to another and I got a lot accomplished.  I’m about two-thirds complete with clearing out the office, storing some things, taking some things to my condo, and recycling some things.  It’s a good feeling to get it done.  I’m still on target on my self-set timeline.

Tomorrow morning I have to take the early Mass again and then leave for the Pastoral Center once again.  Tomorrow is the diocesan finance committee meeting.  When I go there, I will also be returning two “diocesan treasures” that I have kept since the closing of Holy Trinity in Gary.  The former pastors were allowed to take what we wanted out of the building and use/safeguard them until our death or retirement, whichever came first. 🙂

I am returning to the diocese Bishop Grutka’s monstrance and the cross that stood atop the tabernacle in the church.  I have used the monstrance several times each year and have always remember both Bishop Grutka in my prayers as well as the rich history of our diocese.

I’m hoping for a good night’s sleep.  See you tomorrow.  g’night
