Unless You Walk In The Shoes

People often wonder why we priests talk about the day after Easter — heck, days after Easter — as being incredibly difficult.  It’s because Holy Week is a liturgical marathon and by the time we reach the finish line at Easter, we’re spent.

Yesterday was a bit rough on me because my body was still assessing the fact that I survived the Triduum.  Today hasn’t been much better.  I’ve been beat but have had to jump back into “the job” with both feet.  Morning Mass, cleaning out my office so that it can be ready to be painted when I am on vacation next week, and other things have kept me hopping.

Now, I’m just chilling and planning on hitting the sack early.  I’ve still got rest to catch up on especially coming off this really wicked bout of bronchitis.

Never fear.  I’m too stubborn to admit defeat.  🙂
