Earlier this year, the bishop of La Crosse retired and an auxiliary bishop from Detroit, Bishop Gerard Battersby, was named as the 11th bishop of this diocese. At the social before tonight’s dinner, he joined a table I was at with Bishop McClory as they all have ties from Detroit. It was great meeting him. We had lots of fun stories to share and it made the time go quickly before he and Bishop McClory had to leave for the bishops’ dinner.
Tonight, the States Dinner was held at 7:00 p.m. to close off the first full day of the conference. Tomorrow is another full day and this puppy is going to go to bed now so that I can have some energy for tomorrow. 🙂
