There’s a lot of “stuff” going on around here. A student puked during Mass this morning (clean up in aisle three!) and a few students were sent home sick. There seems to be a flu-like virus going on in the area. I’ve been feeling a bit punk myself so am refusing to visit my aunt. In her final days in hospice, the last thing I need to live with is knowing that I got her sick. So, we do the next best thing and visit by phone.
Fr. Jordan is on a private retreat this week so I’ve got the parish to myself. Later this week I will spend most of the day at the chancery for a couple of long meetings. The day before that, I will be in Merrillville for our Teacher Appreciation Dinner when the Diocese honors milestone anniversary years. Then, later that day, I will be in Highland at the Anniversary Mass for priests celebrating milestone anniversaries.
All in all, it’s going to be a very busy week. I just hope to stay healthy. Right now, the sinuses are on full scale alert from the shifting weather fronts as well as the allergens in the air. Spring. When it arrives, it attacks. But, on the upside, the colors of the flowers are oh, so beautiful!
