I’m Getting Older

I know.  64 is not old.  That’s what a lot of people say.  However, I remember when I was into the single digits.  At that time of life, anyone over 18 was already considered old.  Anyone in their late 20’s was over-the-hill.

I think about age more and more when I read about some of my favorite actors passing.  Today, Cloris Leachman died.  She was 94.  But, I knew her my whole life and she is just one of many who is now dead.  Sometimes we begin to think, “When’s my turn?”

Tomorrow I celebrate an “anniversary” of sorts.  It will be eight years since I had my left hip replaced.  Just shy of six months later, the right hip followed.  Eight years ago, they began taking pieces out of me.  🙂

You know what they say, though.  Age is all mind over matter.  If you don’t mind, it don’t matter.  Here’s to however more days, weeks, months, and years that we all have left!
