Black Friday has gotten crazier and crazier every year. I shook my head earlier hearing about the fights taking place at stores, the trampling of people entering stores as soon as they opened, the general rudeness of customers (and some staff) and I thought to myself, “Why do it?!”
Every year, there are people I know who insist on going out for the “best deals”. They return home weary and broke . . . and agitated . . . and, later, disappointed, when they find better deals than those they fought to get.
It just doesn’t seem to be worth it to me.
I’ll wait until Cyber Monday. And, if there are not deals on line that I want, I’ll wait until I see what I want at the price that I want and then I’ll purchase it. Deals can always be found. They are not all just on one day.
Breathe deep, people. And remember, all this fighting that you are doing is to prepare for the celebration of the birth of the Prince of Peace. What do you think He is thinking right about now as He watches some of the Black Friday antics unfold?
