Well, today is the first “official” day of vacation as the three of us are together again for our annual vacation. I don’t really know how it began; but, the three of us have been going down to Disney for many years now. Some people ask what we do while we’re down here. My response has always been, “whatever we want.”
You see, we do not really do anything together, other than sharing a two-bedroom unit. One of us has the master bedroom, the other the attached studio, and the third (that would be me) the sleeper sofa in the living room. I always take the living room because I’m up and out long before the other two get up and come into the living room/dining room.
We only really see each other at dinner each evening. Sometime, we might go into a park together or to Disney Springs and watch a movie. We just have no schedules and no expectations of each other’s time. It works marvelously well for us!
Tomorrow, Fr. Brian and I are probably going to go to Disney Springs to check out the new Star Wars movie. They’re talking rain pretty much all day with a possibility of rain mixed with snow closer to the evening. If that’s the kind of weather we get, the theatre it is. 🙂
We had a great dinner tonight at The Flying Fish. I had the pork belly/potato croquette for an appetizer and the Holiday Special for my entree. The special was a four ounce lobster tail and a three and a half ounce Wagyu steak with asparagus and celeriac risotto. YUM! Dessert was the “Florida Reef”: a lemon mousse and red grapefruit sorbet with grapefruit chunks. The meal was out of this world.
More tomorrow. Right now, it’s time for bed.
