My mother really impressed on us the need to be kind to people. Maybe she constantly said it because she was raising four rough-and-tumble boys. I don’t know. All I know is that her message stuck with me.
I remember people through my past years who have been kind to me, doing something unexpected that really made my day. Whenever I see something that reminds me of one of those moments, I smile and get a warm feeling while taking a trip down memory lane.
I hope that someone’s memories of me will bring them comfort and joy throughout their lives as well. After all, I’m convinced that is why we were created. We were made to care for one another on this earthly sojourn.
So, be kind to one another. It really is not that difficult and, as an added bonus, it makes you feel better about yourself even as you’re making someone feel better about themselves. Everybody wins!
