When I left the house this morning, I looked at our parking lot and I could see that it was really filthy. Over the past couple of weeks, the park’s property which abuts the parish’s parking lot as well as several places on our property were filled with fresh mulch for the plants and trees.
Well, the plants are trees are a bit naked today because a LOT of the mulch is all over our lot lot and went down the storm drains. That rain last night was a gully washer.
We really lucked out in terms of damage, though. A couple of small branches broke off of trees but everything else is still standing and our roofs, even some that are in need of being replaced, held firm enough to stave off the watery onslaught.
It was a lot of water but the ground drank up as much of it as it get as it’s been very parched the past couple of weeks. We’ll see what the rest of the week brings.
