Tonight’s evening prayer at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Schererville on the eve of Bishop McClory’s ordination was a little piece of heaven. The singing was sublime, the prayer was strong and unified, and the bishop-elect was personable and insightful in his homily.
It was good to see so many visiting bishops, clergy, and religious as well as faithful from around the diocese.
Tomorrow, of course, is our very big day. The ordination will take place at a 2:00 p.m. Mass at Holy Angels Cathedral in Gary, the mother church of the diocese.
Please keep Bishop-Elect McClory in your prayers as he prepares to assume the responsibility of shepherd of the Diocese of Gary.
