Of course! Traveling is one of the best things that I have ever done for myself. Between my trips to Disney every January and my cruises at other times of the year (a four day Bahamas cruise after Easter and a longer, usually transatlantic in the fall) I find myself refreshed and relaxed.
As a matter of fact, I have already done the online check-in for my April cruise to the Bahamas and am presently planning my shore excursions and on board activities for my transatlantic in November.
Knowing that I have these kinds of breaks coming helps me to get through the stress of the rest of my life. When I was younger, I could go, go, go and never worry about getting away. Now, I need to get away in order to be able to do the work required of me.
I look forward to the day when I can retire and travel even more. There will be extended periods of time — I guarantee it — that you will not see me. Some of my bucket list? Well, let’s see. A cross-country train trip with a sleeper car, a river cruise on the Mississippi, and a world cruise, to name a few. Oh, yes. And a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords during the highest point for the Northern Lights. Must not forget that.
If you do not do it, give it a try. Travel!
