An Ideal Day

Today began with my going in to EPCOT to meet up with one of “my kids” from Queen of All Saints in Michigan City.  Greg was in the Michigan City Police Department and recently moved down to Florida to be a dog handler with the security force at Disney.  He’s enjoying his job immensely and we got a chance to catch up on old times.

One of the first things we did was to ride Spaceship Earth.  The geodesic “golf ball” is EPCOT’s iconic emblem and the ride inside it takes you through history.

The “king and queen” of Disney were in the park today as well.  Mickey and Minnie were greeting people who wished to have their pictures taken with them and/or to have their autographs.

I also went on a couple of my favorite EPCOT rides:  Journey into Imagination (with Figment) as well as Journey through the Land.

As I was leaving the park mid-afternoon, who should I see big as day but Goofy.  Hey, everyone who goes into the parks gets a little goofy once in a while. 🙂

We had dinner at Le Cellier in Canada’s pavilion tonight.  It was scrumptious as always.  The weather today was really splendid: sunny, warm, and breezy.  It was an ideal day and, now that I’ve been outside all day, I’m ready to go in for the night.

Tomorrow’s going to be wonderful.  I’ve booked a “fireworks cruise” to see EPCOT’s evening firework’s show from the perspective on being right on the water in a pontoon boat.  I’m looking forward to that!
