Today is the feast day of the co-patron of the Diocese of Gary, St. Matthias. He was the person who was selected to take the place of Judas Iscariot, the one who handed Jesus over for trial and crucifixion. Matthias would be martyred later by being chopped apart by an ax. Being a follower of Jesus is not always easy; but, we are called to embrace our own crosses and follow Him daily.
I’ve been given much in this life… but I’m paying dearly for it! Your message about Matthias holds true. (I can’t imagine how he died!) It made me realize that we “pay” for what we are given. God is fair.
That He is!
