I knew that it was going to happen; but, I guess I didn’t care. When I woke up today, my sinuses were such a mess from allergies as well as the weather that I decided, what the heck, in for a quarter, in for a buck. So, I set up on the deck this afternoon to enjoy the sights and sounds and minimum breeze. Even when it is hot, my side of the house generally has a bit of a cool breeze circulating by and the deck is in shade (except for the early morning hours when the sun beats down on it.)
So, I sat outside, for about an hour, enjoying everything even as I was sucking in copious amounts of allergens. Pollen and mold and whatever else was floating around outside, I brought it all into my system. I’m paying for it this evening; but, I don’t care. Let me say that again. I. Don’t. Care.
It felt good to get out for a little bit even though I knew that I would suffer later. I cleaned the bird bath and changed the water and just putzed away on the computer in the “fresh” air. The one thing that I didn’t count on was the mosquitoes. They are usually not around on a hot afternoon. I squashed a few of them before they could get me. (Sorry, St. Francis. They might be your pets; but, to me, they’re just pests.)
Did you ever wonder why all of this is happening right now? The pandemic? Yeah. Me, too. Have you received any answers? Yeah. Me, neither. One of these days we might look back on 2020 and talk about some positive things that came out of it. I’m not sure about it. I’m just hoping that something positive will come from all of this.
Well, that’s about it from this guy for today. I’m going to close these thoughts and then close my eyes and hope for some sleep. It was pretty elusive last night.
Until tomorrow, then.
