Turning The Corner

Wow.

It’s been ten days since being diagnosed with Covid and five days since I’ve been back to work.  Last night, I didn’t think I was going to make it.  As a matter of fact, I feared that I might be relapsing.  I was very sore and my temperature kept trying to spike without actually gaining and holding a fever.

When I locked and alarmed the church after the 5:30 p.m. Mass, I came straight to the house and went to bed.  I dreaded my 4:00 a.m. wake up for the 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. Masses this morning.

Something happened to me in the middle of the night.  I ended up waking refreshed.  A lot of the soreness had diminished and the fatigue was greatly abated.  I made it through the two morning Masses feeling good and, dare I say, hopeful.

I hope I am not jinxing myself saying so; but, I think I’ve turned the corner in my recovery.  Trust me, I’m not going to push myself.  When I begin to feel fatigued, I will take time to rest.  I will not book myself for crazy schedules that keep me running full tilt from beginning to end of the day.  I will save all of that for when I know for sure that I am completely recovered.

I’m looking forward to some restful sleep tonight.
