Tomorrow is Go. 🙂
I did some last-minute supply shopping this morning and I packed up this afternoon. Now, all I have to do is wake up early, shower, and lug my suitcase downstairs for my early morning pick up to the airport.
I’m looking forward to this next vacation. It will be a couple days in a hotel in Newark and then boarding the Independence of the Seas for a back-to-back cruise of Bermuda followed by Canada/New England.
A month later, a Caribbean cruise in a Central Park balcony room (the first time I’ll have a balcony not facing the ocean). A month after that, a holiday (New Year’s) cruise followed by a month at Disney’s Boardwalk Villas. A month after that, a back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back cruise almost the entire month of February.
And then, at the end of February, “vacationed out” from my retirement shebang, I’ll help out at whatever parish might need Mass help.
I’m following the advice of a national organization for priests that suggest that retired priests take the first six months of retirement and do nothing except what they’ve always looked forward to doing. They suggest that we don’t jump back into supply work right away so that we get the benefit of a retired life. I like the advice and I’ve been embracing it quite willingly.
