This morning, I was privileged to celebrate the funeral Mass for my cousin. She was not only my cousin, she was also my godmother. She was fourteen years older than me. (I was the ringbearer at her wedding.)
She struggled especially the past month because of cancer. Though we never like to lose a loved one, I’m glad that her suffering is over and she can be reunited with her parents and her sister, all who predeceased her.
Family matters, folks. We’re coming up on a “family holiday” with the celebration of Christmas. Maybe it’s time for some to let bygones be bygones and reach out to a family member once again?
